Director Sales & Service, Albrecht Bäumer GmbH & Co. KG

What will you be exhibiting at the show, and are you bringing anything new to the market?

Our experts can consult you about high-performance machines, operational excellence, retrofits, and more! One highlight is our new contour cutting machine, “Contour V-blade”, which we launched at Foam Expo North America.

What are the benefits of the products/services that you will have at the show?

With 75 years of technical experience in the foam industry and as a 360 degreed supplier, we provide clients with the ideal solution based on their needs, for example, SOPHIEaccess, the latest extension to our SOPHIE universe, and the Contour V-blade, which revolutionises our branch.

Will you have any demonstrations, competitions, or attractions at your stand?

We have a sustainable booth and good coffee. Join our experts and experience a new level of excellence.

Why is this event important to your business?

Foam Expo is a dedicated show for our industry with all relevant players on-site. We can network with the entire supply chain, focus on customers, and have insightful discussions. We are open to networking and cooperating with companies in our industry as this is important, particularly regarding circular economy and digitalisation. Alone this is not possible, but together we can make it!

Do you have any recent news you’d like to share with us?

After a long time of social distancing and many hours working from home, Bäumer surprised all employees with a staff party this summer that took place in one of our factory halls in Freudenberg. . Despite extreme weather warnings, we had a lot of fun! Over and above the excellent BBQ, we enjoyed various team challenges and played several team games.

What sustainable measures are you taking? Any targets you’re proud of hitting?

Internally we are proud of recycling and minimising food waste (we have a canteen). Currently, we are investigating the installation of a photovoltaic system, although the sun is quite rare here in Freudenberg compared to other parts of Germany. With regards to our machines, energy consumption is in focus. Next to regenerative units for our new machinery, the resizing of drives with less energy consumption based on detailed analyses of older machines in our broad portfolio is vital.

Are you working on any technical developments now?

Yes, we are working on several initiatives with a focus to support our customers with the reduction in carbon footprint and improve their operational excellence through a differentiated consulting approach, new machines, and software. A big goal internally is also to standardise and modularise our machine portfolio in the short term.

What fascinates you about your role?

Driving change with my fantastic team, especially regarding zero waste and operational excellence internally and with our customers and partners.
